On Sunday, October 13th 2024, SoCal Weimaraner Rescue hosted their first annual SoCal Weim Fest, and it was a day to remember! Weimaraner lovers from all over Southern California came together to celebrate this majestic breed and support the rescue's mission. The event was filled with fun activities, delicious food, and of course, lots of adorable Weimaraners!
Highlights of the Day
Attendees enjoyed a variety of activities throughout the day, including various dog games, a parade of rescues and a group photo. The pergola over the shelter was absolutely PACKED with raffle items ranging from hand blown glass ornaments to dog beds and dog crates. Each guest was treated to a bag of treats and a dental chew to kick off the day.
Food and Drinks
The food was catered by Boss Hog Real Pit BBQ who kicked off the smoker at 9:30 AM to have brisket, chicken and ribs along with amazing sides ready to dig in by noon for our hungry guests. We had lots of compliments on the brisket which is no surprise given that this company has been featured in and won many cook offs around town.
Community Support
The SoCal Weim Fest wouldn't have been possible without the support of the local community. Volunteers worked tirelessly to ensure the event ran smoothly, and attendees showed their support by participating in raffles and donating to the rescue. It was heartwarming to see everyone come together for such a great cause.
Looking Ahead
As the day came to a close, the organizers couldn't help but reflect on the success of the event. They are already looking forward to next year's SoCal Weim Fest and are eager to make it even bigger and better.
